Ragin Cajun Pleasanton Fundraiser

The fourth annual Ragin Cajun Pleasanton Fundraiser for the Sandra J. Wing Therapies Foundation last night was a fun filled event.   Held at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton it raised a lot of money for cancer patients to provide grants for alternative healing therapies.  It was very inspirational to learn about the many people who have benefited from the organization and how grateful they are for this wonderful resource to get them through their treatments.

I bid on a couple of the silent auction items and won two of them.   If you would like to donate to this foundation there is more information below.

Here is some information on the Foundation

The Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation provides funds so that cancer patients can experience the immediate benefit of complementary therapies to help alleviate the side effects caused by radiation and chemotherapy.

The mission of the Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation is to provide cancer patients, during their treatment period, with financial assistance for complementary healing services.

Complementary and integrative healing therapies include: acupuncture, acupressure, therapeutic massage, deep breathing meditation, calming meditation, and visualization. These healing therapies can provide relief for neuropathy, anxiety, stress, aches, fatigue, nausea and pain.

The foundation is a 100% all volunteer organization. It is established for cancer patients in the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
About Sandra J. Wing

Sandra J. Wing is a dual cancer survivor. She is a resident of Pleasanton, CA. She has lived and worked in Pleasanton for over 20 years in executive leadership positions and as an entrepreneur. She is an active community member and a graduate of Leadership Pleasanton. She has a BS and MBA in business management. For 10 years, she taught undergraduate and graduate business students at the University of Phoenix. Sandra is also a US Army veteran. As a veteran, she enjoys taking her dog to visit patients at the VA center in Livermore, CA and senior centers in the Tri-valley area.

From cancer diagnosis, through surgery, and during the chemo treatment she found great benefit, calmness, and pain relief by accessing complementary healing therapies such as: acupuncture, acupressure, therapeutic massage, visualization and imagery meditation, and deep breathing meditation. These treatments were not covered by insurance and they enhanced and improved her wellness and well being. She accessed healing treatments of acupressure massage and guided meditation at UCSF’s Osher Center in San Francisco.

The Sandra J. Wing Healing Therapies Foundation is designed to offer local support to Tri-Valley cancer residents.
